About TOP GEE – Afro House & Amapiano DJ
I’m TOP GEE, an Afro House and Amapiano DJ & performer with Nigerian roots and a Neapolitan heart. Music has always been my language, it’s through rhythm that I express who I am and what I want to share. I grew up between African community parties and the turntables powered on by my father, who was also a DJ, and that’s where I understood how deeply music can bring people together.
As a child, I spent hours surrounded by instruments and records, but for several years I set this passion aside to dedicate myself to football. An injury changed my path and led me back to music, which I chose to pursue more seriously by moving to England. There, I began producing beats, collaborating with artists from the UK scene, and developing a more technical and professional vision.
From DJ Ice to TOP GEE
During the summers in Italy, I continued performing as DJ Ice, bringing House, R&B and Afro music to various events. Returning permanently to Naples marked another turning point: by following DJ Obas, I entered the world of Lit, one of the most important Afrosound nights in the city. It was there that DJ Jesa noticed me and wanted me behind the decks. During that time, I felt the need for a name that truly represented me, and that’s how Top Gee was born, inspired by the idea of a determined, reserved person who is always striving to improve.
Today, I am a resident DJ at Lit, and I bring my full musical identity into every set. I move between Afrobeat, Amapiano, Afro House and R&B, blending African influences with a modern electronic performance style. For me, the DJ booth is a real stage: I focus on energy, style and interaction with the crowd. I dance, improvise and turn every night into an experience that engages both sound and sight.
Mission & Vision
Throughout my journey, I’ve also had the opportunity to perform outside my region, including at Zerry DL and Famous Pluto’s Live show in Rome and The Charles Onyeabor Show at the Hard Rock Café in Florence.
One of the most meaningful moments on a personal level was the White Party at Lit, where I truly felt I was fully expressing my artistic identity.
My mission is to share my music with an ever growing audience, bringing a sound that blends culture, rhythm and energy into every setting.
My vision is to develop a personal format that combines music and performance, turning every night into a unique and recognizable experience that leaves a lasting impression.
